Question

Solve the matrix equation `[(2, 1),(5, 0)] -3"X" = [(-7, 4),(2, 6)]`

Sum

Solution

`[(2, 1),(5, 0)] -3"X" = [(-7, 4),(2, 6)]`

`[(2, 1),(5, 0)] - [(-7, 4),(2, 6)]` = 3X

∴ X = `(1)/(3)[(9, -3),(3, -6)]`

= `[(3, -1),(1, -2)]`.
