The Scientific Method:

The scientific method is a step-by-step process for examining natural phenomena and formulating the rules that control them. The following fundamental elements are present in all science methods.

  1. Systematic observation
  2. Controlled experimentation
  3. Qualitative and quantitative reasoning
  4. Mathematical modelling
  5. Prediction and verification or falsification of theories

Example:

Think of metallic rod that is being heated. Heat is sensed at the other end of the rod when one end is heated. On the basis of this finding, the following queries can be raised:
  1. What occurs when the rod is heated inside?
  2. How does the heat reach the extreme side?
  3. Does this impact apply to all materials?
  4. Is it possible to visualize heat if it flows through the material?

A scientific investigation is being conducted to discover the solutions to these questions.
