Question
Find the values.
y = 3x + 1
x | − 1 | 0 | 1 | 2 |
y |
Solution
Let y = 3x + 1 = 0
(i) x = −1, y = 3(−1) + 1 = 0
∴ y = −2
(ii) x = 0, y = 3(0) + 1 = 0
∴ y = 1
(iii) x = 1, y = 3(1) + 1 = 0
∴ y = 4
(iv) x = 2, y = 3(2) + 1 = 0
∴ y = 7
y = 3x + 1
x | −1 | 0 | 1 | 2 |
y | −2 | 1 | 4 | 7 |
