Precautions to Be Taken While Using Electricity:

1. To prevent small children from inserting objects like pins or nails, install electric switches and sockets at a height out of their reach.

2. When removing a plug from its socket, the plug itself should be pulled instead of pulling the plug wire to avoid damage to the wire or socket.

3. Electrical appliances should be switched off and their plugs removed from the socket before cleaning to ensure safety.

4. Hands should always be dry while handling electrical appliances to reduce the risk of electric shock. Using footwear with rubber soles provides additional safety, as rubber is an insulator and prevents current flow through the body.

5. In case someone gets an electric shock, do not touch the person directly. Instead:

  • Switch off the main power supply immediately.
  • If the main switch is inaccessible, try to remove the plug from the socket.
  • If neither is possible, use a non-conductive object, such as a wooden pole, to push the person away from the electric source.
