Find the radian measure corresponding to the following degree measure: −56°

Solution

We have:
\[180^\circ = \pi \text{ rad }\]
\[ \therefore 1^\circ = \frac{\pi}{180} \text{ rad }\]
\[ - 56^\circ\]
\[ = - \left( 56 \times \frac{\pi}{180} \right)\]
\[ = - \frac{14\pi}{45} \text{ rad }\]
