For real value of f
x + |x| > 0
When x > 0,
x + |x| > 0
⇒ x + x > 0
⇒ 2x > 0
⇒ x > 0
When x < 0,
x + |x| > 0
⇒ x – x > 0
⇒ 2x > 0
⇒ x > 0
So, x > 0, to satisfy the given equation.
Therefore, the domain of f = R+
