Eco-Friendly Transportation: Habits and Strategies to Minimize Pollution:
1. Walk or Ride a Bicycle: For short distances, walking is a great way to reduce pollution. For slightly longer distances, riding a bicycle is a clean and healthy option. Both methods avoid using fuel-burning vehicles.
2. Use public transport: Buses, trains, and other public transport options can carry many people at once, saving fuel and reducing the number of vehicles on the road. This helps in reducing pollution and saving time and effort.
3. Use private vehicles less: Use cars or bikes only when it is necessary. Sharing rides with friends or family can also help reduce the number of vehicles on the road.
4. Fuels That Cause Less Pollution: Use vehicles that run on cleaner fuels like LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) or CNG (compressed natural gas). These fuels cause less pollution compared to regular fuels like petrol and diesel.
5. Maintain and Repair Vehicles: Regular maintenance and timely repairs of vehicles help them run better and cause less pollution. Keeping vehicles in good condition ensures they use fuel efficiently.
6. Planting trees: Planting local trees like banyan, peepul, neem, and karanj helps improve the environment. These trees grow well in the local climate and help increase biodiversity. More trees help clean the air by absorbing carbon dioxide.
