India is a democratic republic, which means that the people choose their leaders through elections.

  • The capital city of India is New Delhi, where the main government offices are located.
  • Rajasthan is the largest state in India in terms of area. It is located in the northwestern part of the country.
  • Madhya Pradesh is the second-largest state by area. It is located in the central part of India.
  • Maharashtra is the third-largest state by area. It is located in the western part of India, and its capital is Mumbai, one of the largest cities in the country.
  • Goa is the smallest state in India by area. It is located on the western coast, known for its beautiful beaches.
  • India also has smaller regions called Union Territories, which are directly governed by the central government. Some of these include Delhi (where New Delhi is located), Puducherry, and Chandigarh.
