Question

The diameter of a sphere is 6 cm, Find the total surface area of the sphere. (π = 3.14)

Sum

Solution

Diameter of sphere = d = 6 cm

Radius = r = d/2 = 6/2 = 3 cm

the total surface area of sphere = 4πr2

= 4×3.14×32

= 4×3.14×9

= 36×3.14

= 113.04 cm2

Therefore the total surface area of sphere = 113.04 cm2
