- Effects of Air Pollution on Health
Introduction:
When vehicles burn fuel, they release smoke and poisonous gases into the air. These harmful gases include carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, and sulphur dioxide. Tiny particles of carbon and lead are also released, which lowers the quality of air, causing air pollution.
Effects of Air Pollution on Health:
1. Humans: Breathing polluted air can cause problems like:
- Trachea and lung disorders (trouble with breathing).
- Eye irritation (burning sensation in the eyes).
2. Plants: Polluted air causes leaves to shrivel and fall. Sprouts may get scorched, affecting plant growth.
3. Animals: When traffic passes through forest areas, it can disturb the natural habitat of wild animals, forcing them to migrate.
If there are traffic jams, air and noise pollution in that area increases.
Traffic accidents cause injuries, deaths, and damage to the vehicles.
