Diversity in Plants:
There are many kinds of plants that grow in various places around us. Some plants, like grass, are short and grow close to the ground. Other plants, like trees, are tall and have a canopy, which is a big covering made of branches and leaves.
- Water plants: Some plants grow underwater, like those found in ponds and lakes.
- Floating plants: Some plants float on the surface of the water, such as water lilies.
- Desert plants: Some plants, like cacti, can grow in deserts, where there is very little water
Even within the same type of plant, there is a lot of variety. For example, there are different varieties of rice and wheat. There are many types of roses with different colours and sizes. Mangoes come in many different flavours. Some plants are very different from ordinary plants. These plants might not have typical stems, leaves, or roots like most plants do. These unusual plants survive in unique ways and are an interesting part of the plant world.
