Chemical Energy:

Chemical energy is the energy stored in substances. It is released when a chemical reaction occurs. For example, when wood burns or a battery is used, chemical energy is changed into other forms of energy like heat, light, or electricity.

  • When wood burns, it releases the energy stored inside it. This energy comes out as heat, light, and sometimes even sound (like crackling). This happens because a chemical reaction occurs when the wood reacts with oxygen from the air.
  • The same thing happens in a lead-acid battery, like the ones used in cars. Inside the battery, a chemical reaction takes place, which creates electrical energy. This energy can then be used to power things like lights or motors.
  • Every time a chemical reaction happens, energy is either absorbed or released. When energy is released, we can use it to do things like heat our homes or power our devices.

Examples of chemical energy:

  1. Food: When we eat food, our body uses the chemical energy stored in the food to help us move, grow, and stay warm.
  2. Fuels: When we burn fuels like coal or gasoline, the stored chemical energy is released as heat or electricity.
