Uses of soil:
- Plant conservation: Soil is essential for plant growth. It provides the plants with the nutrients, water, and support they need to grow strong and healthy.
- Water conservation: Soil has the ability to hold water. This is why bunds (small walls) and lakes are built to store water in the soil, ensuring we have water available throughout the year.
- Plasticity: Soil can be shaped easily, a property called plasticity. This allows us to mould soil into different shapes to make items like pots, lamps, idols, and bricks. After baking, these items become hard and durable and can be used for various purposes, such as storing water in earthen pots.
