if tanθ=12 find the value of cosec2θ-sec2θcosec2θ+cot2θ

Solution

Given tanθ=12

We have to find the value of the expression cosec2θ-sec2θcosec2θ+cot2θ

We know that,

1+cot2θ=cosec2θ

cosec2θ-cot2θ=1

Therefore, the given expression can be written as

cosec2θ-sec2θcosec2θ+cot2θ=cosec2θ-sec2θ1+cot2θ+cot2θ

tanθ=12cotθ=2

cosec2θ-sec2θ1+2cot2θ=1+cot2θ- (1+tan2θ)1+2cot62θ             (since sec2θ  =1+tan2θ)

=cot2θ-tan2θ1+2cotθ

=(2)2-(12)21+2×(2)2

=310

Hence, the value of the given expression is 3/10
