Conventional energy resources or non-renewable energy resources:

Conventional energy resources are the types of energy that humans have been using for many years, such as coal, petrol, diesel, and natural gas. These are also known as non-renewable energy resources because they cannot be replaced quickly once used.

Fossil Fuels:

  • Coal is a black rock that we burn to produce heat and electricity. It comes from plants that lived millions of years ago and were buried under the earth.
  • Petrol and diesel are liquids made from oil, which comes from the remains of ancient sea animals and plants. We use petrol and diesel to fuel cars, trucks, and machines.
  • Natural gas is a gas that comes from underground. It is used for cooking, heating, and generating electricity.
