Tests for Divisibility of Numbers

‘Divisible' means, when you divide one number by another, the remainder should be zero. Divisibility tests are useful in the prime factorisation of a number.
To determine whether a given number is divisible by another number without performing actual division, one can use divisibility rules. These rules allow us to analyse, examine, and manipulate the digits of the number using basic arithmetic operations to check for divisibility.
Example:

Divisibility By Rules
2 A number is divisible by 2 if its last digit is 0, 2, 4, 6, or 8.
3 A number is divisible by 3 if the sum of its digits is divisible by 3
4 A number is divisible by 4 if the last two digits are divisible by 4.
5 A number is divisible by 5 if its last digit is 0 or 5.
6 A number is divisible by 6 if it is divisible by both 2 and 3
8 A number is divisible by 8 if the last three digits form a number divisible by 8
9 A number is divisible by 9 if the sum of its digits is divisible by 9
10 A number is divisible by 10 if its last digit is 0
