Congruence:

One stamp covers the other completely and exactly. This means that the two stamps are of the same shape and same size. Such objects are said to be congruent.

Congruent objects are exact copies of one another.

The relation of two objects being congruent is called congruence.

‘congruent’ means equal in all respects or figures whose shapes and sizes are both the same.
Congruence of Plane Figures:

The method of superposition examines the congruence of plane figures.

Two plane figures say F1 and F2 are congruent if the trace-copy of F1 fits exactly on that of F2.

If figure F1 is congruent to figure F2, we write F1 ≅ F2.
