Symbiotic Nutrition:

Symbiotic nutrition is a type of nutrition where two or more different organisms live together and help each other to meet their needs. They work together to get nutrition, protection, and support, and both organisms benefit from this relationship. This is called a symbiotic relationship.

For examples,

  1. Fungi and plants: Some fungi grow around the roots of plants. The plants provide the fungi with nutrients. In return, the fungi help the plants by supplying them with minerals and water from the soil. This makes the plants healthier and stronger.
  2. Fungi and algae: In some cases, fungi live together with algae. The fungi provide water, minerals, and shelter to the algae. The algae, in return, make food through photosynthesis and provide it to the fungi. This way, both the fungi and algae benefit from each other.
  3. Lichen is an example of this symbiotic relationship between algae and fungi. In lichen, fungi and algae live together as one unit, helping each other survive in tough environments like rocks or tree trunks.
