Introduction to Our Skeletal System and the Skin:
The human skeletal system is the framework of bones inside our body. It acts like a protective shell, keeping our important internal organs, like the heart, lungs, and brain, safe.
- Our skin covers the skeleton and muscles, providing an extra layer of protection to the body. Together, the skeletal system and the skin play a big role in keeping our body strong, safe, and healthy.
- Sometimes, when we fall or have an accident, a bone in our arm or leg might get broken. This is called a fracture. A fracture causes a lot of pain, and the area with the broken bone swells up immediately.
- At the hospital, doctors take an X-ray of the injured part. An X-ray is a special type of picture that shows the bones inside the body. It helps the doctor see if a bone is broken and exactly where it is broken.
- Wilhelm Conrad Roentgen discovered X-rays. His discovery helps doctors find and fix broken bones properly.
